SEE & DO

THINGS TO DO

Montefrio

The ruins of a Moorish castle sit near the highest point. Being built midway between the Sierra de Priego and Sierra Parapanda, and commanding the open valley between these ranges, it became one of the chief frontier fortresses of the Moors in the 15th century. Also on the National Geographic hit list as well as great for Instagram

Granada

Granada is a city in southern Spain's Andalusia region, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It's known for grand examples of medieval architecture dating to the Moorish occupation, especially the Alhambra. This sprawling hilltop fortress complex encompasses royal palaces, serene patios, and reflecting pools from the Nasrid dynasty, as well as the fountains and orchards of the Generalife gardens.

Alcala la Real

The fortress of La Mota, also known as the castle of Alcalá la Real, is a defensive enclosure, located on the hill of La Mota, at 1029 m., in the city of Alcalá la Real, in the province of Jaén, autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain, dating from the Nasrid period (13th and 14th centuries)

Sierra Nevada

Sierra Nevada is a mountain range in the Andalusian province of Granada in Spain. It contains the highest point of continental Spain: Mulhacén, at 3,479 metres above sea level. It provides perfect skiing for up to 6 months on good years and fantastic walks and cycling

Cordoba

It was an important Roman city and a major Islamic center in the Middle Ages. It’s best known for La Mezquita, an immense mosque dating from 784 A.D., featuring a columned prayer hall and older Byzantine mosaics. After it became a Catholic church in 1236, a Renaissance-style nave was added in the 17th century

Malaga

Malaga is best known for its most famous son – artist and sculpturist Pablo Picasso. Art lovers can spend hours inside interesting museums and galleries, while those looking to rekindle a passion for natural landscapes will find a contrast of gardens and rocky canyons to delve into, not to mention great shopping and stunning local beaches
